Jessie Ooi Stories Continues After She Defended What She Claimed

The infamous Jessie Ooi (Ms Tow Truck) who questioned Lim Guan Eng during the great debate between Lim Guan Eng and Choi Soi Lek explained why she ask those questions.

jesse ooi explained

In a statement yesterday, Jessie Ooi said her poser on rising assessment rates was not in reference to Penang, which had been misinterpreted by the media and the public. (In other words, we are misinterpreted the real meaning, it is our fault.)

“Because I mentioned that I am ‘half a Penangite‘, people thought I was referring to Penang. I say what I must, I do what I must. This is my principle.

“At the time, I did not clearly mention which state (I was referring to). Due to the short time limit (to pose a question) I used the wrong words.

“At the time, I wanted to refer to the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat state government, who promised in 2008 to lower assessment rate, but did not keep to this promise. (So Jessie Ooi actually say Lim Guan Eng is misleading everyone to believe they (again not sure who is they Jessie is referring here, Penang Government or PKR?) is earning a lot of money but assessment rate in Selangor state is higher)

“The people of Selangor are not happy with this. News reports stating that I was referring to Penang are inaccurate,” she said. (Now everyone is clear, she is referring to Selangor state instead when asking Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng. It is just too short to mention the word Selangor instead of Penang in her short 1 minute questioning time. But what does this Selangor state have to do with Lim Guan Eng said Penang is earning a lot of money??? )

During the debate, Ooi had said: “I am ‘half’ a Penangite. You always talk about lightening the people’s burden. But assessment rates are up. All prices are going up.” (Again, I do not get the “half” Penangite thingy and why Jessie is mentioning it before asking her question. Anyway it looks like Jessie want to relate all prices going up is because Selangor PKR state government failed to keep the assessment rate low in Selangor? I might be wrong, she might have other reason why she say “All prices are going up.” because 1 minute is probably not enough for her to explain what she say)

Car clamping incident

On the infamous remark about the car-towing incident, Ooi explained that it had stemmed from the lack of parking space along Lebuh Pantai, Penang.

She said people who wanted to use the facilities of the banks along the road at night were forced to park illegally outside the bank for security reasons.

Some of these vehicles ended up being clamped by local government enforcement officers and later towed away.

“Thus, I raised the issue, hoping that Lim (as Penang chief minister) would be able to resolve this problem, instead of allowing enforcement officers who are under his control to burden the public,” she said.

During the debate, Ooi had claimed that she had on two occasions saw cars being towed after 10.30pm when there was no traffic, and thus the vehicles had posed no obstruction to traffic.

Questioning Pakatan’s performance

She added in her question that she saw a fight resulting from one such incident, which ended up with people being severely injured.

Today, Ooi explained that her question was in reference to incidents which were witnessed by her and her husband.

“The car clamping issue has been raised before in the press and discussed on Facebook,” she said.

Ooi explained that she had raised the two issues because the debate between Lim and MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek had touched on Pakatan’s performance in several states which it administers.

She said that she was responding to Lim’s claim that his administration had managed to reduce the public’s burden and increase government revenue.

Based on Malaysiakini-Jessie Ooi defends poser to Guan Eng

Here are some Malaysiakini reader replies about Jessie Ooi defends:

SPN Dear Jessie. The news reports were not inaccurate, it was you who was not accurate in expressing yourself. As a politicion you should express yourself in a more rational and eloquent manner. On the issue of towing away illegally parked cars at 10.30 pm, syabas to the hardworking enforcement officers. Afterall breaking the law should have its consequences. Or does MCA think otherwise?

FLOM The quality of her question is pathetic. Can’t blame her though. That’s all MCA talk about, drains, potholes and parking. She can bid goodbye to her political ambitions. The voters of Selayang would have judged her by now

Holden This is interesting. You’re asking the CM of Penang about assessment rates in Selangor?

superwoman6 You are obviously barking up the wrong tree, have very poor leadership qualities and still got the cheek to come out and so-call correct yourself. I am ashamed and I believe your members would feel the same. As the chinese saying goes, if you dont open your mouth, nobody would say you are Dumbed, Thick Skinned.

wira Has anyone of you seen or heard any MCA leader defending Ms Tow Truck? All the manipulations by the main stream media to award the victory of this debate to Chua are being singularly negated and overturned by this poor lady. Lamentable indeed !

Anonymous_40b4 Jessie. I was there in the hall when you were shouting to LGE. Don’t argue and trying to twist your words. Fact is fact.

jeremy Ng Jessie is not only a poor liar and twister but also a real immature amateur. With all the evidences, she still want to clarify and twist. She should learn from CSL who openly admitted when caught. Damage has already been done showing her poor character and lacking in knowledge. At least by apologizing, her true unrepentant self will not be known. And, public condemnations and brickbats will stop. Now with her press conference, she is deemed uncorrectable. She is unfit to be in public service.

fairnessforall Jessica Ooi, are u an idiot? Don’t you know that even the BN goverment issue summons to cars parked in no parking zone even at night. I have personally witnessed a few times when I was passing brickfields, where MPKL officers were going around issuing summons to cars parked along brickfields even at 9.30pm at night. So what do you have to say about that. In any case, you were not asking a question, you were behaving like a gangster. You should look at your face in the video. It was really disgusting and ugly. Are you saying BN has never increased assessment rates. BN has even increased electricity rates, so what the hell are you talking about. First get your bloody party the Malaysian Chickens Association to stop the governments from increasing prices of necessities, only then you have the right to question others.

Boiling Mud It irks me to hear you referring to yourself as HALF Penangite. Whatever that could mean by being HALF?? You are either a Penangite or you are not!! We don’t understand your HALF-wit logic. Have you heard of the expression ‘half-bucket sh*t”??

lucia the thing is if the car is illegally parked, it deserved to be towed away… even if there is no single traffic on the road during that time. rules are rules. illegally park, kena towed – so what nonsense is jessie talking about?
