MACC Finally Decided To Create A Special Team To Probe NFC

After so many people upset with the issues of how NFC (National Feedlot Corporation) project abuse government loan of RM250Million, MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) finally says they are forming a special team headed by Datuk Mustafa Ali to investigate the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal involving cabinet minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s family.

Previously on 14-Dec, chairman of MACC Abu Kassim Mohamed is trying to kick the ball to  Malaysia Police to do the investigation. He explained to Sin Chew Daily reporters after an international conference that MACC received pertained to abuse of a public loan, not abuse of authority; and hence, it is a case under the Criminal Procedure Act to be investigated by police, and not a corruption case that falls under the jurisdiction of MACC.

So in other words, the head of MACC do not consider such abuse of RM250Million loan as CORRUPTION but only offence in criminal laws and they do not brother to investigate further. It seems to me Abu Kassim Mohamed is very well aware and understand the whole NFC scandal until he can be so sure that there is 100% no corruption involve and therefore no investigation is needed.

Anyway, just want to share some feedback from Malaysiakini users on how the feel about the MACC new special team to probe NFC:

• Abil What special team, I thought it was rountine work of MACC to investigate and charge without fear or favour. Everytime when it is UMNO politician involved , they will form all kinds of special team and the net result is no action taken. When it is opposition, for paltry sum of RM2500.00 they will go for jugular vein until one has to die.

We give you a guarantee that there will not be a Royal Commission Inquiry because we do not want another death by self-strangulation of your clown prosecutor.

• Anonymous MACC? Majority of Malaysian questions it’s integrity, so why bother to investigate? MACC is just an agency to hide UMNO’s corruption, that they are doing a good job.

The moment you form special task force or committee, we know it is a mean to diffuse responsibility and nothing of value would come out of the investigation. You mentioned not to politicise the case. Well, that is precisely the point – did you form a special committee to investigate TBH? Did your officers routinely worked over night interrogating suspects and witnesses? Did your officers over zealously interrogate suspects and witnesses as in the case of TBH? What is the difference between TBH’s case and all other cases if it is not politicisation?

• DNA Investigation director Mustafar Ali said that the commission takes all complaints seriously and takes stern action without fear or favour”. Oih Mustafar, who are you trying to kid? With so much of evidence available, yet no action has been taken against the “Sarawak Brooke’ Taib Mahumud. Please for heavens sake, please stop all the bloody bullshit, MACC. Malaysians are not bloody fools.
• lim chong leong The NFA file room in the MACC is larger than TunMM’s room in Petronas towers. All complaints and reports involving BN/Umno and cronies, friends and relatives go there and the MACC will say they have been investigating and a file has been opened.
• wira Clearly, we can all see that it may be corruption only if Putra Jaya decides that the case can be investigated, despite the guarantees given by past and present BN governments that all those bodies, PDRM, MACC and AG office are independent. Seeing senior government servants of those offices making 180 degree turns from “no case” to “got a case” makes one want to cry at the sorry state we are in today.

• Cannon We have more confidence in an independent panel of inquiry – a Royal Commission of Inquiry. Shahrizat should not take the easy way out by resigning. She is adamant she has done no wrong. My wife & I together add up to 138 years; she doesn’t work so I alone have to toil daily in spite of so many age-related illness.We refuse to go around begging but a few cows for us will go a long way to lighten our burden. A small low cost flat won’t hurt either! ANY CRUMBS FOR US senior citizens on the verge of starvation?
